First we measure assembled width and check for any damage. We also set the jig up for correct assembled width, we can then disassemble the crank... |
| ||||||
| We take great care to check the whole assembly for any reason for premature failure. One thing we pay particular attention to, which is generally overlooked, is to remove contaminating metal that has welded itself to the crank flywheels from any previous big end and thrust washer failures. |

We assemble the crank with new rod kit. We find the Prox kits to be a good replacement for the CR's. |
| ||||||
| After the rod kit is assembled around the crank pin we can place into the jig for the final press. This jig is essential when rebuilding Honda crankshafts as they have a pressed steel cover around the flywheels and cannot be knocked back into true without damage. So the job has to be right first time! |

The crank is now spot on tolerance and ready to release all of that power without transmitting it to vibration. |
